Privacy notice
Last updated October 29, 2026.
Who is responsible
Connected Continents Press LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, USA ("we", "us"), is responsible for the personal information you give us through connectedcontinentspress.com. Contact: info@connectedcontinentspress.com. Registered agent (for legal notices): 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801.
What we collect
- Forms on this site: your email address and, depending on the form, your name, organization, the outlet where you publish, and the message or request you send. Each form also records, for security, the time it was sent and the IP address it came from.
- The readers' list: your email address; whether you ticked the box refusing news of Rutanamex consulting, YCP and Trusted Faces Agency; and the page you joined from, the date, and the version of this privacy notice in force at the time.
- Orders: when you buy a printed book through this site, Lulu Press, which runs the checkout for us, sends us your name, email address, shipping address, what you bought and whether you agreed at checkout to receive news from us. We never see your full card number; it goes only to Stripe, the payment company. Amazon and Barnes & Noble, which our other links lead to, sell the books under their own privacy policies and do not give us your name, address or payment details.
- Our web host, Namecheap, keeps ordinary server logs for security: the time of each request and the IP address it came from.
We do not collect sensitive personal data.
Why we use it
We use your information for what you asked us to do:
- answer your message;
- send a review copy;
- quote a bulk order;
- handle a rights request;
- deliver and support an order;
- send news about our books, only if you agreed at checkout; you can stop at any time by replying to any message;
- keep the site secure;
- if you join the readers' list, write when a book in the series is out and when something it covers changes, such as a rule, a tariff or a date, at most twice a month.
One use is optional, and you can say no to it: sending you, now and then, news of Rutanamex consulting, of YCP and of our partner company Trusted Faces Agency. We send that news ourselves and do not pass your address to those companies. To say no, tick the box when you join, or write to us at any time. Saying no does not affect the book announcements.
Review copies: if you ask for one, we use your name and email address only to send that copy and to follow up on that request. Asking for a review copy does not put you on the readers' list.
Who handles it for us
These companies process your information only on our behalf: Namecheap (USA), which hosts this site and rutanamex.com and runs their forms; Google (Google Workspace, USA), which holds our mailbox, where the messages you send through this site's forms arrive; and MailerLite, which stores the readers' list and sends its emails, keeping the data on servers in the European Union. The readers' list form sends your sign-up through rutanamex.com, our sister site, which keeps a record of it on our server, outside the public part of the site, as proof of your consent. Plausible Analytics (European Union) counts visits for us in aggregate only, as described under Cookies below.
Google, Namecheap and MailerLite may keep information outside the country where you live. We do not sell or rent your information.
Others handle order details as part of their own service, also under their own privacy policies:
- Lulu Press (USA) runs the checkout for printed books ordered on this site, prints and ships them, and collects any sales tax due; Stripe (USA) processes the payment.
Some of these companies keep information outside the country where you live.
Two sites, one company
Connected Continents Press LLC runs both this site and rutanamex.com, which publishes the free data and What's Changing, and keeps the mailing lists of both in one MailerLite account. The readers' list and What's Changing are separate lists: joining one does not put you on the other, and What's Changing has its own sign-up on rutanamex.com. Your address is held once, and the unsubscribe link in any of our emails takes you off our mailings.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to its use, or withdraw your consent. Write to info@connectedcontinentspress.com with your name, the email address concerned and a clear description of what you are asking for. Where needed, add documents that prove your identity or that of your representative. We answer within 20 business days and, if the request is granted, act on it within 15 business days after that. Every list email carries a one-click unsubscribe link.
Limiting use
You can limit how we use your information by unsubscribing from any list email or by writing to us. Your address then goes on a do-not-email list so you receive nothing further.
Reader pages
We invite some academics, librarians and journalists to read samples of our books on our reader pages and to ask for a free copy. We took their name, institution and work email from the public pages of their institutions. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in placing the books with readers able to judge them, and you may object at any time.
A personal link lets the page greet you by name. Your browser stores that link on your device for 30 days so the page can remember you; we set no cookie. When you ask for a book we record which book and edition you asked for, the address the link went to, when it was sent, whether it was downloaded, and the first time each day you opened your personal page. Each copy carries your name and the date, so that a copy passed on can be traced. To limit abuse we keep a coded fingerprint of your network address for at most 24 hours, never the address itself. If you are not on our list, we keep your request (email, name, institution, country) for 90 days to answer it. Records of requests and downloads are deleted 24 months after they are made, or sooner if you ask.
The pages and the records are kept by our hosting provider, Namecheap, and the emails are sent through Google Workspace; both process your information in the United States. To see, correct or delete what we hold, or to object, write to info@connectedcontinentspress.com.
Cookies, tracking and Do Not Track
This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising. It uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first service based in the European Union, to count visits, pages, the sites that sent visitors here, and country and device type, in aggregate only. Plausible sets no cookies, keeps no IP address and builds no profile of anyone. Because the site tracks no one, within it or across other sites, it does the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. On the reader pages only, your browser stores your personal link on your device (see Reader pages). The checkout pages of Lulu and Stripe, and the Amazon and Barnes & Noble pages our links lead to, are their own and follow their own policies, cookies included.
How long we keep it
Correspondence for as long as your request needs and for ordinary business records. Order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. List addresses, and the record of how you joined, until you unsubscribe.
Children
This site is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes
If we change this notice, we post the new version here with its new date.
